The classic answer to the question “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” is “practice, practice, practice”.
Revenge, hatred, rage, blaming, attack, and defense, have become the human pattern; a self-destructive downward spiral of insanity where no opinions are changed, nobody wins, we widen the separation between us, there is no peace and nobody is happy. There has to be a better way.
Love, which is the foundation for peace, is our inheritance, our natural true state. Fear is a distortion that we are taught. To live peace is to recover our true perception of the world and its people.
Our lives are directed by our thoughts. To practice peace is to become aware of thoughts of attack and defense, realizing that you have the power to see things differently, and you can allow fear-based images to pass through without becoming stuck in your head. Our behavior follows. The way to peace is also the way of peace. As you change your thinking, you’ll transform how you experience your life — and ultimately, you do your part to change our world. Practice, practice, practice.
